Wow. I'm going to hope you didn't record and post that yourself and that you only stumbled upon it, because the only humiliating thing here would be a firefighter in this county attempting to embarrass one of our county's fire departments. I would hope the "brotherhood" and "unity" we're all supposed to share - this "family" we're all supposed to be a part of - wouldn't allow one of us to behave that way.

Hey CRB thanks for posting the video on here for those to use as a training tool. There are some real good points here on what could go right or wrong on even the simplest calls. I can only guess that anything you might think is wrong or right in this movie never happens to you or your company. It must be nice to be always perfect. Can I please send you an application to join us down here we really need some perfect firefighters, oh and by the way can you bring a fire truck with you that never ever malfunctions and valves never stick. Remember we didnt start the fire but it was out when we left and nobody got hurt isn't that our job? For all the rest of you that come on here remember in todays age someone is always watching you and ready to Monday morning quarterback anything you do, EVEN FELLOW FIREFIGHTERS!

Wow Chief looks like somebody struck a nerve? I think that it was great that he posted the video, cant we all learn something from this video? Now did he, CRB, mention anything about how great he was or "perfect" as you may mention? No I dont think that he did. Chief you seem to be a practical Chief that preaches safety. Chief why was your "white hat" FF that got off the Tac have NO pack on? You also appeared to be in the "hot zone" with no PPE on what so ever. I think that maybe you should again contact Billy G and have him come back to the great Bucks County. I am suprised that this video has not made Firefighterclosecalls.com or Statter 911. Its simply amazing to me that you always have so much to say, along with your buddy from Yardley, but again mybe you should not throw rocks in a glass house. Hey I have an idea for your next drill, how and when to use a SCBA and properly wear your full PPE. Please feel free to contact me robert.kristoff@gmail.com

06-24-2008, 2:30 PM Chief33 I have heard some jobs over the last two weeks but no post on here for any. Can you all share some info on any of the jobs?

Dave, this post from you, on June 24, 2008, indicates that YOU think the INTERNET IS the place to have discussions of Fire Incidents. Dave, did YOU take the actions that you are telling the other poster to follow? Did YOU drive to the other fire stations, seek out the incident commanders and ask them questions about the incidents face to face? Did YOU call the fire stations via phone to speak to the incident commanders about the incidents? If Mr. Berridge did not post this valuable training video, as YOU yourself thanked him for posting, would YOU have shared this information on this forum voluntarily? Do YOU think it is OK to have conversations on incidents on this INTERNET forum that occur in other locals, but not inside YOUR local? Now Dave, I do not want to get into a conversation about this videotaped incident with YOU on the INTERNET. What I want to ask YOU about is YOU asking other people to have conversations about their incidents on this forum, which is on the INTERNET and not being willing to discuss YOURS in the same way YOU ask others to do. I will discuss an incident WE had that may make you chuckle as long as it didn't happen in a manner that injured or put anyone in jeopardy!! We had a trailer fire in a trailer park which was out of our local. We were filling in for a company who was involved with a job in the next city over. We got dispatched to a trailer fire and arrived 1st. The 2nd due company was to catch a hydrant at the front of the trailer park (the only hydrant in the park) and they saw one closer to the incident(which is what they thought). They wound up tagging a fire hydrant yard ornament for our water supply!! Now that's funny, I don't care who you are!! Nobody was inside the trailer, it was abandoned. We took their tank water and they went back and tagged the right hydrant. I WISH we would have saved the tape but the Chief of our department (he's a great guy) gave the tape to the other Chief (which there were NO copies of) and told him to do with it what HE wanted. It was shown at the County Fire Chiefs association meeting discussed, and disposed of, not put on youtube. While embarassing, I think my chief did the right thing. I think it is up to us to police ourselves in a manner which we want to be treated. I don't like it that companies disagree over matters of misfortune. There is a time and a place to discuss them. Even as a child when my dad was Chief of Capitol View in Morrisville and they had disputes with Union, it was just an odd feeling to me at 5 years old that 2 fire companies protecting the same areas would literally RACE to beat the other company there just to make the other one look bad. I don't know any of you personally back East, and I'm sure there are histories between companies. Videos do paint a picture of many words, and mistakes can be seen in ALL of them. Let's just make sure we do the right thing and go home safely, bottom line. Irish Truckie, I'm hearing what you're saying about discussion on this forum. If Dave feels it appropriate, I'm absolutely certain he would do that sir. I just think (correct me please if I'm wrong, seriously) it was the manner in which it was posted. I'm not starting anything, if you knew me, I'm the most easy going guy you could ever meet. I'm more of a mediator, even at work!! I think if this were brought to Dave's attentionbefore being posted as our incident was, he would gladly address it and dispose of it and the critics. As I stated, I don't know any of you personally, but I'd like to meet you guys on my next trip back East to see my brother. I really enjoy this forum, the people on it, and learning from your incidents and discussions. I appreciate being allowed to be a part of it. Thanks again guys, Bob. (They actually do call me friendlybob at work as my forum name states!!)

Robert it is so nice to see how a past Chief has learned how to use the internet to address a current Chief. You tell me all the time to stay off here , thanks for the reminder of why. Lets start a whole page on a car fire. I will start for you, Car fire starts in parking lot, Fire company gets dispatched, Fire company gets on scene, Fire Chief gives directions to his crew by Fire truck, firefighters open the vehicle hood, firefighters put out the fire, all go home safe. Here is what also happened, Tac truck valve configuration was wrong and charged into the Deputy car several times before it was fixed, Chief did not wear his gear when he walked from his car to talk to his Lt. Lt. did get out of vehicle to talk to the Chief and then returned for his pack. Report from PD was given as it smells like coolant and as you can see in the video PD attempted to open the drivers door. I think that covers it all but I am sure if you have any other questions you will ask them on here. Finally it is not as much info as a working house or building fire but at least I am not afraid to post it here like most, but again Wimpy thanks for the reminder.

Dave, I stated that I did not wish to discuss this specific incident over the INTERNET with you. I am sure that many others are doing so, without us having to take up valuable space here. Space that you may need in the future, when you ask people to post information about incidents they have had. I was only asking you to discuss if you were doing yourself in seeking information about other fire incidents, in the way you advocated one of the other posters do, which was to contact you directly. Or to stop by the station. You did not answer any of those, so I can only speculate that you did not contact the incident commanders of the jobs, which on this forum you asked for information about, or that your INTERNET policy, which you ask other people to follow, does not apply to you. Also, again, I will ask, if Mr. Berridge had not posted this training information, which, lets not forget, you thanked him for posting in this forum, would you have posted it it voluntarily, as you also ask other people to do about their incidents? If you were not afraid to post it, why did you originally tell the other gentleman that you would not discuss it on the INTERNET, because it was not the place to do so? Obviously, with 196 posts from you, fear of posting is not an issue. With me Dave, it was not about the run to HD. It was about you previously asking people to post information about jobs they had on this forum, then you stating that you would not discuss an incident here, because it was not the place to do so. Dave, I am sure your status as a the current fire chief in your specific location far exceeds anything I could have ever experienced in the fire service. Please forgive me for even making you have to take up your valuable time to answer these questions, which takes away from your very busy and very complicated command responsibilities. With the width and depth of your knowledge and experience, it certainly seems that it would be an error on anyone's part to even question anything that you would have, could have or should have done, not only in the parking lot of the HD, but at any point in time ever. Could I please schedule a ride along with you? It is comforting to see that used my long time nickname, for that I thank you, Mid-Town Manhattan Command. R. Hedden

YOU MY FRIEND HAVE BALLS. grow up! i have watched the youtube post and ok 33's had some big problems with this one. no one is perfect.now i am not from your county, but i know alot about how you guys work, and its a big suprise you guys down in the lower end anr not getting into fist fights or turning air of on each other cause that how you all act on here EVEN SOME CHIEFS. you all should look real close at the upper end of your county, they all try to get along, ya the have there retards but they make due, and they keep there *** in house. cant we get back to what this fourm was started for to talk about positive stuff that we all can learn from "not that we can't learn from this" and stop throwing each other under the bus. these are my thoughts and do not reflect any dept. that i run with

Hey Bob, how is the view from Indiana? Friendly for sure, but clouded I think. Is there anyone with any balls that does not think it is hypocritical, as I do, for Dave Pearl to openly ask other Fire Chiefs to post information about fire calls on this internet forum, but then tell people that it is not proper for him to post information about a fire call he has, because the internet is not the proper forum? Would he have volunatarily posted the info,as he has asked other people to do, if Mr. Berridge had not posted the video? Which I must again remind everybody, he thanked Mr. Berridge for posting on this forum. Friendly Bob, I agree with you on one point, let Dave keep doing what he is doing, as long as the view is from Indiana, and the people out there are not being asked by Dave to post information about their jobs, as he does here.
