It has been a month since I rattled your brains for any news on apparatus. Time to fess up with some more info. Please pass along anything new you know. Hear is what I have learned in the past month:
EDDINGTON Update: ordered a KME Predator, 4-door six man cab, 1500/750, Cummins, 425HP, rescue-style body, 10KW Harrison hydraulic generator, no light tower, non-painted rollup doors, estimated delivery is 6/09. Sold the 1993 E-One engine to a fire company in WV. They also placed their classic 1961 GMC field piece out of service for good. The company will retain this as an antique.
MILFORD TWP. They have taken delivery of a Ford F Super Duty 4-door chassis with a PolyBilt body, to be used as a Special Service unit. Looks something like Perkasie’s traffic unit.
LEVITTOWN #2 Took delivery of their Emergency One Typhoon rescue-engine on 10/6. Their 1984 Seagrave engine which was for sale, was donated to the Lower Bucks County Fire Training Center which is yet to be built.
CROYDEN Putting a committee together to spec out a engine to replace the 1980 Mack MC engine – want it the same size.
TRUMSBAURESVILLE Their Rescue 58 (1997 Spartan Metro/Marion) will be out of service for about two months while it goes under a minor refurbish. It will be going to Micro Fire Apparatus in Allentown to get painted black over red and also part of the red will be repainted. Then the truck will be going to Ecco Communication to get a David Clark Headset system installed. Finally the members will be installing all LED warning lights once the truck is returned.
YARDLEY Ordered a Ford F550/Pierce Encore traffic unit. It will have a 12’ body. Took delivery in November of their Pierce Dash quint, 2000/400/ , 75ft RM aluminum ladder, 20KW Onan hydraulic generator, Cummins ISL, 500HP, for the main station.
MIDDLETOWN Update: Confirmation on their order - a Spartan/Precision, 4-door eight man cab, 1500 GPM, rear-mount pump, 15 KW Harrison hydraulic generator, 3600 watt Will-Burt light tower, 500HP motor, and two ladder racks.
