    Re: Apparatus Happenings

The old Ivyland Tac unit was sold to the Bucks county SWAT team. It is currently being painted. We placed a new (for us) 2001 KME TAC piece in service in March 2007. It is a class A pumper with pump and roll capabilities, 4X4, and 300 ft of 1" bosster reel. 1250 pump 500 gallon tank. 100 ft 1 3/4" trash line front bumper, 2 1 3/4" crosslays, 1000ft 5", and 300 ft of 2 1/2" preconnect off the rear. Nice truck.

Next up for us to replace will be the Ferrara.

    Capt62,

Thanks for the update on Ivyland.  What color is the SWAT team going to paint their "new" vehicle ?

    Thanks again,

    Bruce

    Bruce,

Tac-33 was sold to a dealer in Lancaster about 2 weeks ago. I really have no idea where she will be going from there.Field -33 was sold about 6 years ago to a local contractor and is still around. Engine-33 the 1990 KME was sold to Tower City, Pa. Marine-33 the White whale was sold to a man that wants to fish with her on the Chesapeak and the old Zodiac when to a company in Delaware County.

    Bruce,

Not sure what color they are painting it. I was told by our Glick rep that it is currently being done though. I hope to get some pictures of it once they place it in service.

    Re: Apparatus Happenings

Our new Spartan chassis for our new tower will be coming off line in October (I got blessed to go with our DC to drive it) and going to South Dakota for the body from Rosenbauer. Has anyone had ANY experience with this company back East?? Just wondering. Low bidder and not many examples around, just picking heads. Stay safe folks, Bob.

There're lots of comments in various threads in firehouse.com.  Opinions vary all over the board.  Worth reading if taken with the requisite grains of salt.

Stay safe out there, everyone goes home!
