    Re: Apparatus Happenings

Thanks for all of the updates from people - greatly appreciated.

    Here are a couple more:

LINGOHOCKEN                 They now have a 2007 Ford Expedition in service as Chief 35’s vehicle.  The 2001 Ford Expedition that was Chief 35 is now Utility 95 at Station 95.  The 1991 Chevrolet Suburban that was Utility (ex-Special Service) 95 was sold this past week to Tri-Hampton Rescue Squad for them to utilize as a duty officer's vehicle.  Deputy 35 is operating a 2007 Ford F350 Supercab Super Duty with a short Utility Body on the back.  This replaces a 1999 Ford Crown Vic that was purchased used from Doylestown Fire Co. All Lingohocken vehicles are now white/red or red.  The 1991 Suburban and the 1999 Crown Vic were white.  The current fleet of support vehicles are all red.

TREVOSE                               Looks like one of my contacts figured out who did the outfitting on there new canteen unit, Custom Mobile Food Equipment out of Hammonton, NJ.  Small mom & pop company.  Go to the following link:

    http://www.customsalesandservice.com/products/disaster-relief/

HILLTOWN                          They have purchased a Duplex/LTI, 1250/300, 75ft rear mount quint from a dealer in GA.  Originally in service in TX.  Still looking for any additional info on this ?

UPPER BLACK EDDY        They have ordered a International 7400/KME tanker, 2 door, Hale DSD 1250 GPM pump, 2000 gallon fiberglass water tank, Newton dumps, both sides and rear, KME aluminum Eliminator tanker body with ROM rollup doors, hosebed for 500' of 5" hose and 300' of 3" hose, Zico portable tank storage system on the officer side, and ground ladders and suction hose storage on the drivers side.

WARMINSTER                    Their new Spartan/Smeal ladder was delivered the week of 6/23.  It is at the station now.

EDDINGTON                       Confirmed that they are specing to replace at least one engine.

BRISTOL                              Their Ferrara Inferno quint, 1500/300, 77 ft RM is finally nearing completion at the plant.  It is all red with a black ladder.

    Many thanks,

    Bruce

CORNWELLS                      They have recently ordered a Pierce PUC pumper. The truck has a Pierce Velocity tandem axle Chassis with 20” raised roof, powered by a Caterpillar model C13, 525 hp engine with an Allison EVS3000 automatic transmission. Seating for eight (8) firefighters, air conditioning and TAK4 independent front suspension.  The truck has a aluminum body with roll up doors and a Pierce PUC 1500 GPM single stage pump with a 500 gallon water tank. There is a Harrison 30Kw generator with Fire Research Focus lights, two 200’ cord reels and a Wilburt 9,000 watt light tower.  A July of 2009 delivery is expected.

    Re: Apparatus Happenings

Bruce, here's a few updates for your records concerning old apparatus from Fairless Hills:

    • 1961 open cab Mack (31-1) is at the Texas Fire Museum and frequently participates in musters.
    • 1 of our twin 1972 Mack pumpers (31-2) went to Screamer Fire Co in Alabama, (the second one (31-4) went to another company about 40 miles south of Screamer, Alabama)
    • 1976 Mack/Swab heavy Rescue went to Tri-Township Rescue Squad in north-central Pa.
    • 1977 Maxim Seagrave ladder is in service at New Eagle Fire Co out near Pittsburgh
    • 1988 Mack engine is in service with the East River Fire Co in Prince Edwards Canada.

    Re: Apparatus Happenings

    Kevin,

    Thanks for that.

According to my records, the following:

The 72 Mack that went to Screamer is no longer in service.

76 Mack/Swab is no longer in service.

The 77 Maxim & 88 Mack are both still in service.

Any chance you can find out the name of the fire company the other 72 Mack went to ?

    Many thanks,

     Bruce
