    Re: Apparatus Happenings

    Bruce,

Lingohocken just took delivery of a 2007 Expedition state bid pricing from Fred Beans for a new Chief''s vehicle.  Actually a leftover they tracked down for us in Massachusetts.  The existing 2001 Expedition Chief 35 will move to become Utility 95, replacing the 1991 Suburban there.  Likely that the Suburban (66,000 miles) will go for sealed bid not too far down the line.  Also a new 2007 Ford F350 with utility body was placed in service last year as Deputy 35 - also purchased through the state bid pricing and replaced a Crown Vic with 120,000+ miles that was purchased used from Doylestown Fire Co.  The Crown Vic was used for vehicle rescue training then scrapped due to multiple repairs needed.

What are the capabilities of this truck as a rescue? What do they plan to have to make it a rescue? The company Im with now has a pumper rescue but with county they still say it is an engine regardless of the rescue equipment on the truck.

    Re: Apparatus Happenings

13's has a special service right now that they use for all vehicle extrication's, they have that truck stocked for RIT team as well. from  what i see they'll make it mainly a vehicle rescue truck, with all the tools needed for that as well as the capabilities to do fire rescue operations and also being able to function as an engine if need be. I'm Sure it'll have all the tools that a normal heavy rescue would have only on a pumper rescue. im pretty sure bucks county has a set standard of what classifies your piece as a rescue, but 13's has the equipment and trained personal to run a rescue company to which i dont for see them having a problem with getting the rescue designation for this truck.
