    Re: Apparatus Happenings

Yeah I heard something about that. But they don't have all that money, it had to cost them a little money to get the fake Engine 53 lettered and the sweet tarp for it during the grant request time frame right. So ya got to back that coin out of some where. No room for the engine in the station then or the generator in the parking lot now. Only 15 spots for the old people to park. But imagine all the candy you can get for it.

I think not, Bristol Consolidated works very hard for - and appreciates - everything we have. Everything we have we've earned!! I guess you'll be selling the County Task Force equipment next, I'm sure your sugar daddy will give you more. LOL

Do you know or does any body know if Ivyland sold that old Tac-62?  Last I heard is that the County was interested in it for a MCI Unit.

    countryboy36ff,

Thanks for the info on Springtown.  By any chance do you know anything more on the specs - size of water tank, does it have foam, generator size, etc.

    Many thanks,

     Bruce

    Re: Apparatus Happenings

I noticed on Warrington's website, plus on FireLine's (dealer), that they are selling the old Engine 29 - the 1991 Sparatn Gladiator/3-D.  I presume from this that they will not be replacing it which will leave them with the two Pierce engines, the E-One ladder, and the E-One rescue, and no reserve engine.  Anyone can chip in and correct me.

    Many thanks,

     Bruce

    Re: Apparatus Happenings

A couple of apparatus updates from the last time I reported.  Some of these might be repeats - oh well.  If anyone has anything to add, please do.

    Many thanks,

SPRINGTOWN                     As I reported last month, they are suppose to be getting a brand new truck for more than $500k, and no further details were available.  The rumor is that they will replace their ladder - and there was no confirmation on this.  Well, on 2/14/08 they took delivery of an American LaFrance Eagle, 1500 GPM, 75 ft RM quint, with 1000 ft of 5".  I see on FireTec's website that their 1987 KME Fire Fox/LTI, 4-door cab, quint, 1500/400/15, 75 ft rear-mount LTI steel aerial ladder, high compartments driver's side, main painted white with blue lettering, ground ladder carried on officer's side, unique Federal Q recessed in front bumper with 5 in.ports on either side, blue Scotchlite bodyside stripe, is for sale, asking $65,000.  This was purchased used in 2002 - former St.Louis,MO-from American LaFrance Used Fire Apparatus-Landisville,PA, in 1987 St.Louis purchased 15 of these, repainted all white-was red at St.Louis.

WILLIAM PENN                  Took delivery of  their second Spartan Gladiator Classic LFD/Toyne; seating for 10; 515 HP Series 60 Detroit Diesel engines; Hale Q-Max 1500 GPM pumps; Hale Foam Pro 1600 foam system,  extruded aluminum bodies; high side compartments on both sides, full depth on the left side and offset depth on the right side to allow for slide in ladder racks; 500 gallon tank with 30 gallon Class B foam cell, and a 10KW Onan hydraulic generator.

LANGHORNE                      A lot of rumors swirling around what they are going to do since their Elite Fire Apparatus order went down the tube when the company went belly up.  Some are saying that Toyne will get the order, we will see.

WARRINGTON                     I see their 1991 Spartan Gladiator/3-D Metals,4-door cab,1500/500, roll-up door compart at back step, Detroit 8V92, 500 HP, 6KW Onan generator, designated Eng.29 at main station, is up for sale on FireLine's website (dealer).

CHALFONT                           Just an final update on their tanker order: they have received and placed into service a 2008 Peterbilt 340/4-Guys, 500/2300, Cummins ISC, 300HP, 2-8" side dumps, 1-10" rear dump, and rollup doors.

TRUMBAUERSVILLE           At the company meeting on 2/4/08 they decided to purchase a 2008 Dodge 3500 long bed pickup, Cummins diesel, automatic, 4X4, Contractor Hi-Side compartments, and a portable winch.  It will be painted to match the new engine and will be designated Utility 58

    TGriffith32,

I had heard that 45 had a agreement of sale for the ladder, but the deal feel through due to financing issues for the buyer.  Is this company in KY a new buyer ?

     Many thanks,
