As a county dispatcher each and every one of you will come under a great deal of scrutiny from system users and the public. Each and every dispatcher must maintain an attitude of professionalism in each situation which is encountered. Our goal as a department is to develop a communications center which is second to none in efficiency and professionalism. To do this it will take the cooperation of each and every employee of this department. If you as a dispatcher lose your temper when faced with a stressful situation or answer telephone or radio transmissions with a sarcastic or irritated tone of voice, it doesn't affect only you, it affects each and every member of this department. All requests for information and assistance will be processed in a prompt, polite manner no matter how unpleasant, misinformed or confused the requesting party may act.
Many of you are part of volunteer organizations which might have philosophies that differ from county policy or departments that operate within our system. It is your responsibility as an employee of Bucks County to treat each and every department equally. This is your responsibility at all times, not just when you feel like it. It is also your responsibility to follow the policy and procedures covered
within. Nothing will tarnish the image of this department faster than each dispatcher doing everything different.
Let's make Bucks County the best!
