ESTABLISHMENT
This order establishes the procedure for the filing of complaints against the Bucks County Department of Communications by serviced agencies.
PURPOSE
To establish guidelines in order to obtain uniformity in the processing of complaints resulting from the activities of the Bucks County Department of Communications.
MECHANICS
A complaint may be initiated by a member or an employee of any agency serviced by the Bucks County Department of Communications.
Informal Complaints
- Informal complaints may be directed to the Bucks County Dispatch Center
supervisor who will:
- attempt to resolve the issue in a courteous manner
- advise how to file a formal complaint if the issue cannot be resolved
- terminate the call should they be subjected to verbal abuse,
provocation, foul language, etc.
Formal Complaints Shall:
- be in writing and with "who, what, when, where, why and how" precisely addressed
- contain facts, not opinions, innuendoes, lengthy dissertation, etc.
- be prepared and processed without unnecessary delay
The complaint must be reviewed by the superior officer or supervisor having jurisdiction over the complainant
- Should the superior feel the complaint is valid and worthy of further investigation, it will be endorsed and forwarded to:

The Director of Communications shall acknowledge receipt of the complaint by mail.
- The primary goal of any investigation is to ultimately arrive at the truth.
- A full and fair investigation will be conducted.
- The complainant will be notified of the results of the inquiry at conclusion.
- When the complainant is advised of the final results of the investigation and if their allegations have been substantiated, the complainant will be advised of our administrative disciplinary procedures.
Anonymous complaints will be considered.
